Orville Thomas Schurr

ORVILLE THOMAS SCHURR Orville Thomas Schurr passed away at Vista Grande Inn in Cortez, Colo. on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the age of 88. He was born the son of Henry and Leona (Haxton) Schurr on June 4, 1923 in Clay Center, Kans. Orville married Joyce Ann McMillan in 1946 in Jamestown, Kans. He was a member of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Posse, Masons, Shriners and Elks. He was a carpenter for more than 50 years. Surviving Orville are his wife of 65 years, Joyce Schurr of Albuquerque, N.M.; children, Terry Schurr and wife, Janey of Cortez, Colo., Linda Barker and husband, Sid of Albuquerque, N.M., and Tammy Schurr of Las Cruces, N.M.; and four grandchildren, Clint Schurr and wife, Kris of Pleasant View, Colo., Terra Graf of Cortez, Colo., Heath Barker of Las Cruces, N.M. and Micah Barker and wife, Nicole of Albuquerque, N.M. Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.
