MINNIE MAE ERNST Memorial services for lifelong Dove Creek resident, Minnie Mae Ernst will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 12 at the Dove Creek First Baptist Church. Jerry Martin will officiate. Minnie was born on December 31, 1904 in Nebraska to Mr. and Mrs. Cardwell. She passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at the Vista Grande Nursing home at the age of 99. Minnie married Lloyd Ernst and to them was born one son, Harold. Lloyd passed away on January 30, 1968. She loved quilting, crocheting, and playing cards. Surviving Minnie are her daughter-in-law, Helen Ernst of Dove Creek. She leaves three grandchildren, Dixie Mulligan and husband, Mike, Rick Ernst and wife, Berna, and Mike Ernst and wife, Laurie all of Dove Creek. Her 14 great-grandchildren, 14 great great-grandchildren, and one great great great-grandchild also survive Minnie. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lloyd Ernst; her son, Harold “Buck” Ernst; and her grandson, Ron Ernst. Memorial contributions can be made in Minnie’s memory to Dove’s Nest at Community Bank of the Rockies Dove Creek Branch or to the Dove Creek Clinic.
