MILES BLACKBEAR PINO Funeral services for Miles Blackbear Pino will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Miles was born on March 27, 1988 in Cortez the son of Darlene Pino and John Wesley Harwell. He passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Montrose Memorial Hospital. Miles was 26 years old. In 2006 Miles graduated from Durango High School. He became a Marine Corp Youth Auxiliary member where he earned numerous medals and was recognized as a High Archer. Miles will be remembered as a very knowledgeable person who was an avid reader and an extraordinary computer I.T. technician. With his intellect came special gifts as well. Miles was an accomplished musician finding his talent in playing the guitar. When he was younger he enjoyed skateboarding, which as he grew older developed into snowboarding. He was currently training to be a ski instructor. Karate was also an activity Miles was involved in. Traveling was also an enjoyment. Culture was also very important to him. Surviving Miles are his mother, Darlene Pino and Jefferson Begay of Mesa, Ariz. and father, John Wesley Harwell of Chicago, Ill.; siblings, Daphen Noel Pino of Petersburg, Va., Ian Keenan Pino of Tempe, Ariz., and Austin Apache of Albuquerque, N.M.; his friend, Shawna Welfit and her son, Jaden Welfit; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, family and friends.
