Michael Yazzie Begay

Graveside services for Michael Yazzie Begay will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Cortez Cemetery. Michael was born February 15, 1966 in Winslow, AZ the son of Mary Susie Billie and Yazzie Begay. He is of the Bitter Water clan, and related to Big Water Clan; His Grandparents Sam and Louise Billie of SebaDalkai, AZ. He passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at St. Marys Hospital at the age of 52. Michael lived on the Navajo reservation in the Teesto/Seba Dalkai Region, attended School in Seba Dalkai, and Cortez, Colorado. Traveled and resided in Tucson, AZ, Denver, CO, Kansas City, KS, Minneapolis, MN, Grand Canyon, AZ, Bryce Canyon, UT, and Cortez, CO for employment. Michael enjoyed spending time at the library, reading, working with the computer, and was open to learning new skills. He also enjoyed building and working with his hands. Michael held a variety of jobs, skills in masonry work, carpentry, digging trenches, building farm irrigation system; he also worked with food preparation and kitchen utility. Michael was a member of Victory World Outreach and First Assembly of God church. Surviving Michael are his siblings (and their families) Lucille Begay, Nathaniel Lee Begay, Helen Tapaha, Marie Begay, Winona Begay, Herbert Keams. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Loretta John, and his brother Daniel Lee Begay.
