Mikyon "Sonny" Nathan Begay

Funeral services for Cortez resident MiKyon Sonny Nathan Begay will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 3 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Sonny was born January 16, 2002 in Cortez. He passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in Aurora, CO at the age of 16. Surviving Sonny are his parents, Byron Nathan and Florine Jim Begay of Cortez, CO; his siblings RaFarrell Begay, RaThelma Begay, RaShiah Begay, RaShawnya Begay, Markayda Begay, MaKyle Begay; his grandmother, Virginia Begay of Kayenta, AZ; his great grandparents, Kee and Louise Tapaha of Aneth, UT, Emma Begay of Aneth, UT, and Joseph and Susie Begay. Sonny was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Mary Begay.
