Meagan Shari Coppinger

September 4, 1986 — August 14, 2022

Meagan Shari Coppinger was born on September 4th 1986 in Virginia Beach, Virginia to Michael Coppinger and Kimberly Show. She is survived by her parents and her three brothers; William and his wife Emily Coppinger, Tylor and his wife Brianna Show, and Nicholas Coppinger. Also surviving are her grandparents Earl “Skip” Bennick and Amanda Hector, Gary and Mary Ellen Coppinger, Great Grandma Cloris Coppinger, as well as several cousins, aunts, and uncles.

In Meagan’s early school years she enjoyed keeping busy with various sports and teams. She was involved in Cheerleading, Track, Volleyball power lifting, powder puff and Basketball at her school. She rodeoed for a few years with her brothers and competed in the local Little Buckaroo Rodeos. Not only did she love sports, but she was also involved in the school choir where she won many awards. Her favorite song to sing and perform was Amazing Grace. Meagan didn’t stop there. She was also involved in Girl Scouts which taught her excellent communication skills that she used throughout her life to connect with and maintain amazing relationships with the ones she loved.

As a teenager, one of her favorite past times was helping her brothers get into trouble like how to sneak out of the house without getting caught. Eventually, she was the ONLY one that got caught. In 2003 at the age of 16 years old, she was involved in a major car accident in Cortez, Colorado where her and a friend were hit by a drunk driver. Meagan was a speaker for the local Victims Impact Panal. Meagan worked fiercely through numerous injuries and challenges during this time. These challenges didn’t stop her, however, as this time seemed to fuel her ambition to help others. Specifically, she learned she had a passion for caring for others, especially the elderly. Meagan went on to pursue a career in home health care which she excelled in. This lead to her passion for baking that, over time, turned into her own business “Meag’s Sweets”. She also was passionate about photography, and she always loved to capture life’s quiet moments like sunsets and scenery. As we all know, Meagan never failed to be honest or was known to have “no filter.” Some of the family’s favorite memories with her include hearing her quick comebacks, and laughing together over her brutally honest comments. Meagan was also an avid animal lover; a couple of her favorites being Tweety the bird and her Pomeranian Daisy Mae Duke which Meagan pampered more than herself. Daisy Mae enjoyed getting her nails done, ears pierced and even picking out her own hat and purse. Needless to say, Meagan was always putting others before herself; whether animal or human.

No matter where she was, or what she was working on, Meagan always worked hard at bettering her community and herself. Her smile was contagious and her humor could bring a room together. Meagan never knew a stranger and was known to make friends wherever she went. She made many relationships with new friends by opening her heart to all and being the one others could count on and feel comfortable with without judgement. The love Meagan had for her friends and family was indescribable. To say the least, her heart was unimaginably large.
Meagan will be incredibly missed by all her friends and family. She will never leave our hearts and conversations, and she will continue to send her love to us through sunsets and butterflies.
