MARY LUCY DeLOST Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident, Mary Lucy DeLost will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Lucy was born on July 31, 1917 in Quitman, Ark. to Will and Amanda Maude (Patchell) Daves. She passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2004 at the Vista Grande Nursing Home at the age of 86. Her children, Peggy Kirkpatrick and husband, Dick of Cortez, Shirley Dennison and husband, Darrell of Cortez, and Moss Atkinson and wife, Billie of Dolores survive Lucy. She leaves 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; as well as her sister, Billie Jean Sparks and husband, John of Mesa, Ariz.; and two sister-in-laws, Mary Lois Daves and Vena Kelso both of Cortez. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Victor DeLost; and Doug DeLost. Memorial contributions can be made in Lucy’s memory to Hospice of Montezuma at PO Box 740, Cortez, CO 81321. Services are under the direction of the Ertel Funeral Home.
