Mary Elizabeth Meyers

MARY ELIZABETH MEYERS Mary Elizabeth Meyers, 94 of Cortez, passed away at Vista Grande Inn on Sunday, January 26, 2014. She was born the daughter of Clifford James Sage and Ruth Miriam (Austin) Swihart Sage on November 4, 1919 in Canon City, Colo. On April 21, 1938 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Mary became the bride of Robert Leroy Meyers. They shared 75 years of marriage together before Bob's death in September, 2013. Known by her family and friends as a great cook she enjoyed entertaining and having company come into her home. Mary also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, collecting stamps and coins, and fishing. She loved her family deeply, especially her grandkids, and freely gave out hugs. Surviving Mary are her children, Robert I. Meyers and wife, Alice of Ellinwood, Kans., Charmane Graham and husband, Robert of Dolores, Colo., and Jerry L. Meyers and wife, Linda of Craig, Colo.; by 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren; and by her siblings, Bill Sage of Pueblo, Colo. and Joyce Turano of Pueblo, Colo. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert L. Meyers; and her siblings, Eleanor Farnum, John Swihart and Jim Sage. Cremation has taken place with memorial services to be held at a later date.
