MARTHA ANN “MARTY” LUDEMANN Memorial services for Mancos resident, Martha Ann “Marty” Ludemann will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Nancy Shauffle and Heather Ludemann will be officiating. Marty was born on May 28, 1944 in Cortez the daughter of Roy Mathew and Thelma Eugenia (Baer) Hammond. She passed away on Friday, October 16 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 60. In 1962 around the age of 18, Martha left Cortez. Ten years later she married Steven Gary Ludemann on September 16, 1972 in Manchester, Conn. Marty spent her working career as a teacher for the University of Connecticut. She enjoyed hiking, skiing, biking, and loved museums and art. Marty returned to the area in 2002. Surviving Marty are her husband, Steven of Mancos; her children, Heather Ludemann of Washington, D.C., and Eric Ludemann of Boulder, Colo.; as well as her brother, Charles Hammond of Cortez.
