MARILYN ANNE PORTER Marilyn Anne Porter, mother of three, grandmother to seven, passed away February 8th in Cortez, Colo. Marilyn, a vivacious, strong willed woman led an adventurous and fulfilled life. She was born Marilyn Anne Jones, January 2nd, 1931 in Hamilton, Ontario. After high school, unknown to her friends and family, Marilyn left home and flew to Bermuda. Her beautiful smile and drive for success was irresistible. Marilyn soon became a much loved member of the island and hotel in which she worked. There she met her husband Phillip Porter of Ouray, Colo. and over the next 30 years our mother lived the adventure and traveled with three children to Japan, England, Wyoming, Oklahoma, and finally residing permanently in Tucson, Ariz. In Tucson, Marilyn advanced her professional career as an executive assistant to some prominent Tucson businesses while Phillip, her husband, served three tours of duty in Vietnam. Most recently a proud resident of Vista Mesa Assisted Living Residence, Marilyn is survived by sons, Dennis and Mark; daughter, Sandra; granddaughters, Carley, Lindsey, and Holly; and grandsons, Nicholas and Cobe, Mclain and Colton. Please join us in wishing our mother a beautiful new journey. Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date in Arizona.
