LUCY JEAN TIMICAN LEHI Graveside services for longtime Towaoc resident Lucy Jean Timican Lehi will be held at 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 16 at Towaoc Cemetery. A wake will be held on Wednesday, May 15 at the residence of Christine Lehi, 133 Beadsturn Street, Towaoc at 7 p.m. Lucy Jean Timican Lehi was born August 4, 1951 in Richfield, Utah to Douglas and Betty (Yazzie) Timican. She passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Towaoc at the age of 61. Lucy attended school at the Ignacio Boarding School, was a teacher of the Paiute language, and worked in the shirt factory in Towaoc. She was a basketmaker and also enjoyed bead work. Lucy had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Lucy is survived by her children, Isaac Lehi of Towaoc, Yolanda Lehi of Towaoc, Adriana Lehi and husband, Trent Ute of Towaoc, Abe Lehi Horrocks of Mancos, Cordelia Miera of Mancos, and Tasheila Lehi of Cortez; grandchildren, Brittany Gomez, Demetryse Pikyavit, Kyle Hatch, Walker Hatch all of Towaoc, Danika Miera and Levi Miera both of Mancos, and Surena Secody, Jeran Secody, Desmond Secody, and Amani Secody all of Cedar City, Utah, one great grandchild; sisters, Jean Featherhat and husband, Harlan of Cedar City, Utah, Vida Clark and husband, Dan of Towaoc, Shirley Lehi and husband, Benjamin of Towaoc, Marilyn Yazzie of White Mesa, Utah, Jolene Yazzie of St. George, Utah; brothers, Dennis Yazzie of White Mesa, Utah, Rick Yazzie of Salt Lake City, Utah and Elliot Yazzie of Marona, Utah; friend, Felix Adakai of Cortez; and best friends, Angela Badback and Gloria Tom both of Towaoc. Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Betty Timican; husband, Freddy McPhee; daughter, Renee Timican; siblings, Jerry Lehi, Lillie Watson, Mary Tallman, Jennifer Cantsee, Boyd Cantsee, Chester Cantsee Jr., and Baby Boy Cantsee.
