LUCILE V. EVERETT Lucile V. Everett was born on September 11, 1923 in Rena Rae, Colo. the daughter of Don and Blanche Johnson. The longtime Mancos resident passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 84. Mrs. Everett lived in the dry lands north of Cortez during her school years, and graduated from Cortez High School. On August 25, 1946, she married Clarence L. Everett. She worked beside her husband on their ranch in Mancos for most of her adult life. Mrs. Everett was very talented in quilting and left a legacy of many beautiful quilts to warm her loved ones. Creating beautiful, intricate hand works, playing cards and tending to her yard were some of her favorite pastimes. Mrs. Everett is survived by her daughters, Linda Snodgrass of El Dorado Springs, Mo., and Sandra Jones of Hesperus; along with four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence L. Everett; her parents, Don and Blanche Johnson; and two brothers, Delmar and Paul Johnson. At the request of Mrs. Everett, a public memorial service will not be held. Cremation has taken place.
