LORRAINE VOGEL Lorraine Vogel, longtime resident and business owner, passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the age of 81. She was born July 18, 1930 in Grand Junction, Colo. to Lawrence and Ruth S. (Kerstetter) Learned. Lorraine and her husband, John, came to the Cortez area in 1958. They built and operated the Top Hat Restaurant which today is known as Burger Boy on the corner of Main and Madison. Lorraine and John also built and operated The Pony Express Restaurant; a local favorite for many years. Lorraine was a member of Daughters of The Nile.
