Lorene Tobin

LORENE TOBIN Memorial services for Lorene Tobin, a longtime resident of this area, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her remains will be buried at the Summit Ridge Cemetery. Lorene was born October 12, 1926 in Denver, Colo. to Sylvestus Henry and Marguerite “Ruth” (Patterson) Holtzclaw. She passed away in Phoenix, Ariz. on April 10, 2005. Lorene spent most of her life in Dolores. She married Charles Tobin on June 24, 1951. Charles passed away January 2004 after the couple had celebrated 52 years of marriage. For the past 50 years Lorene faithfully served as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Cortez Congregation. Surviving Lorene are her three children, Charles Leroy Tobin and wife, Donna of Farmington, N.M. and their children, Fawn, Shawna and Mark, Lynda Tobin of Cortez and her daughter, Deanna of Denver, and Michael Tobin and wife, Tamra of Dolores and children, Ty, Thayne and Terrance; and four great grandchildren. Her siblings, Walt and Flo Holtzclaw of Dallas, Tex., Norma Nelson of Lemon Grove, Calif., Margarett Felwock of Las Vegas, Nev., Dorcas Ray of Denver, Colo., Francis (Mrs. Gerald) Litton of Riverside, Calif. and half sister, Marjory (Mrs. Reef) Egger of Mesa, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Pauline Baldy of Allyn, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive Lorene. She was preceded in death by three half brothers, Donald, Alvin and James Baldy.
