LOIS FAE SUMNER Lois Fae Sumner was born on February 19, 1929 in Byers, Kan. the daughter of Forrest L. and Hazel (Beck) Jenkins. She passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at her Cortez residence at the age of 79. On January 15, 1983, Lois married Donald "Don" Sumner in Las Vegas, Nev. She was a member of the Good Sam's Travel Club and retired after 23 dedicated years of work from Forest Lawn Cemeteries in California. In her spare time, Lois enjoyed traveling and collecting roosters. Surviving Lois are her husband, Don Sumner of Cortez; her step-children, Sharon Young and husband, Barton of Phoenix, Ariz., Larry Sumner of Lancaster, Calif., Michael Sumner of San Diego, Calif., Terri Cohen and husband, Mitch of Lancaster, Calif., and Cheryl Sumner-Gonzales and husband, Freddie of Palmdale, Calif.; her brother Jack Jenkins and wife, Nancy of La Miranda, Calif.; her cousin, Ann Current and husband, Charles of Cortez; numerous grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Steve Todd; and her step-son, Donald Sumner Jr. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
