LEE THOMAS "WOODIE" WOOD Funeral services for Bayfield resident Lee Thomas "Woodie" Wood will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 8 at Life Church on Highway 160B in Bayfield. Interment will follow at the Bayfield Pine River Cemetery. Woodie was born June 28, 1929 in Hutchinson, Kan. the son of Ranken Thomas and Elma Helen (Farley) Wood. He passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Cotttonwood Inn in Durango at the age of 86. On April 12, 1958, Woodie married Peggy Darlene Warhurst in Topeka, Kan. He was a member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association and Woodie thoroughly enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He loved to travel and take photos. Woodie won numerous awards at the La Plata County Fair for his photography. He had many hobbies that filled his time. Scuba diving, flying airplanes and custom embroidery were just a few. Woodie loved his kids and grandkids dearly and he lived life to the fullest. Surviving Woodie are his loving wife of 58 years, Peggy Wood of Bayfield; his children, Toni Mae Anderson of Hoyt, Kan., Mardi Kay Windholz (Gerald) of Thornton, Colo., Vicki Lee Wood of Fontana, Calif. and Jacqui Marie Day (Chuck) of Bayfield; and by 15 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his daughter Anni Lamb.
