LAWRENCE ZANE WRIGHT Graveside services for longtime Mancos resident Lawrence Zane Wright will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27 at the Wright residence 42122 Road N.25 in Mancos. Zane was born May 2, 1931 in El Centro, Calif. the son of Harry and Leta (Carter) Wright. He passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his residence at the age of 84. Zane married Dale McLagan on April 30, 1983 in Mancos. He was a longtime member of Masonic Lodge #100. Zane was an accomplished backhoe operator and woodworker. He was most proud of retiring as a career firefighter in El Cajon, Calif. as a Battalion Chief. He built many homes for his family and friends. Zane was a generous man who was always willing to help others. Surviving Zane are his wife, Dale Wright of Mancos; and his children, Jerre Whitelsey (Ed) of Weimar, Calif., Jim Wright (Mary) of Alpine, Calif., Gary Woolsey (Elvira) of Mancos, and Brent Woolsey of El Cajon, Calif. Zane also leaves behind his 14 grandchildren, Summer, Fredrick, Roger, Nicholas, Mike, Jamie, Corrina, Troy, Drew, Courtney, Joey, Aaron, Shane and Eric; two great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Bradey; his sister, Barbara Lewis of El Cajon, Calif.; his daughter in law, Jackie Wright of Sante, Calif.; and by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and a large extended family. Zane was preceded in death by his parents; and by his son, Gene Wright. Memorial contributions may be made in Zane Wright's name to the Mancos Volunteer Fire Department.
