LAWRENCE EDMUND LEROY, JR. Memorial services for longtime Dolores resident, Lawrence Edmund LeRoy, Jr., will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 13 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Larry was born on June 17, 1942 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Lawrence Edmund and Leona (Streithoff) LeRoy, Sr. He passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2004 at his home in Dolores at the age of 62. On October 3, 1994 in Denver, Colo. Larry married Valerie Lynn Sorensen. Larry loved working with wood. He spent is career as an artist working with and creating wood pieces. He was the founder of the Four Corners Wood Workers Club, and was also a member of the Four Corners Rifle and Pistol Club. Surviving Larry are his wife, Valerie LeRoy of Dolores; his children, Lawrence LeRoy, III and wife, May, Kenneth LeRoy, Shawn LeRoy all of California, and Shannon Bates and husband, Brian of Virginia; he also leaves seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Larry’s name at Dolores State Bank.
