LARRY LeROY COLLINS JR. Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident, Larry LeRoy Collins Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 24 at Ertel Memorial Chapel with interment following at Sleeping Ute Cemetery in Towaoc. A Wake will be held Thursday evening beginning at 6 p.m. at the home of Shirley Eyetoo, 165 Mike Wash Road, Towaoc. Larry was born the son of Larry LeRoy Collins Sr. and Shirley Eyetoo on Oct. 5, 1970 in Cortez. He passed away at his home in Towaoc on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at the age of 36. Larry attended the Santa Fe Art School in Santa Fe, N.M. and was quite an accomplished artist. He loved drawing and painting. Larry was truly comfortable in the outdoors, enjoying hunting and hiking and his “nature walks”. Mostly, though, Larry loved time spent with his children and nieces and nephews. Surviving Larry are his mother, Shirley Eyetoo of Towaoc; his father, Larry Collins Sr. of Ogden, Utah; his companion, Sandy Summa of Towaoc; and his children, Ari Collins, Christian Collins, Cameron Collins all of Towaoc, Sterling Woods of Hogback, N.M., and Ganielle George also of Towaoc. Also surviving Larry are his grandmother, Ida Poeg of Towaoc; grandfather, Thomas House Sr. and wife, Jessie of Towaoc; sisters, Julia Mirabal and husband, Vince of Glendale, Ariz., Leona Collins of Towaoc, and Shelley McKenzie and husband, Neil of Towaoc; brothers, Aaron Eyetoo and wife, Judy, Lionel Collins, Lawrence Collins, Eric Eyetoo and Alex Eyetoo all of Towaoc; aunts, Elizabeth Eyetoo of Towaoc, and Mary Jane Collins of Whiterock, Utah; and numerous other aunts, uncles, sisters, nieces and nephews.
