KIMBERLY KAY (HAYNIE) CRUZAN Graveside services for Kimberly Kay (Haynie) Cruzan, a lifelong resident of Cortez, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 23, at the Cortez Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Thursday afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Kim was born on November 2, 1968, in Cortez, the daughter of Ralph Dean and Sandra Kay (Campbell) Haynie. She passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at the age of 37. Kim was an active person who loved time spent outdoors; camping was one of her favorite pastimes. She was especially fond of arts and crafts, painting was an activity she excelled in. Kim could also be found collecting old bottles in her spare time. Surviving Kim are her father, Ralph Haynie of Cortez; her mother, Sandy Heird also of Cortez; her daughters, Jerika D. Cruzan and Heaven L. Tankersley, both of Cortez; and her companion, Chad Blackmore of Cortez. She also leaves behind her siblings, Gary W. Johnson and Debbie Cone, both of Cortez; her step-sisters, Darlien Williams of Egnar, Colo., and Paulette Rogers of Hyattsville, Maryland; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Memorial contributions may be made in Kim’s name to the Dolores State Bank where a fund has been set up to benefit her children.
