KENNETH EUGENE "KEN" GATES Funeral services for Cortez resident Kenneth Eugene "Ken" Gates will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 15 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Empire Street Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Ken was born April 11, 1924 in Denver, Colo. the son of Glenn L. and Theda L. (Bowen) Gates. He passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colo. at the age of 88. On June 26, 1956, Ken married Betty Ann Bradshaw in Taos, N.M. The couple had their marriage sealed for eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Surviving Ken is his wife, Betty Gates of Cortez. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brothers, Lonnie L. Gates and Maynard L. Gates.
