Kenneth Brewer "Red" Carpenter

KENNETH BREWER "RED" CARPENTER Kenneth Brewer "Red" Carpenter was born on May 30, 1939 in Abilene, Tex. the son of William Ovid and Annie Lou (Brookshire) Carpenter. He passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 69. Red retired from the U.S. Navy in October of 1978 after serving his country for 22 years and five months. Red was well known for telling wonderful "sea stories." In 1997, Red moved to Egnar and he purchased a farm raising goats and Anatola shepherd dogs. Red enjoyed woodworking, gardening and landscaping. He liked to watch educational programs and Red loved attending barbeques. In 1999, Red married Marlene Cassity in Cortez. Surviving Red is his wife, Marlene Carpenter of Cortez. Red inherited nine children between two marriages and he loved each one as his own. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Red was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Connie Carpenter; and his brother, Ted Carpenter. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
