JOSEPH DONALD HAYDON SR. Memorial services for lifelong Cortez resident Joseph Donald Haydon Sr. will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Chaplain Marvin Graves will officiate. Joe was born on June 14, 1936 in Cortez the son of William Taylor and Alice Isabel (Palmer) Haydon. He passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 74. Joe spent 36 years as a heavy equipment operator for Montezuma Valley Irrigation. In his free time, Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at Groundhog. Surviving Joe are his children, Theresa Nasuta and husband, Aaron of Cortez, Leah Gallegos of Wyoming, Joseph Haydon Jr. and wife, Camey of Egnar, Colo., and Ruth Sanders and husband, Sam of Dolores; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his sisters, Irene Geiswite of Cortez, and Lenora Lewis of Cortez; his former wife, Anita M. Haydon of Cortez; and many nieces. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brother, Jim Haydon.
