Josefina Guadalupe 'Lupe' Buchholz

Funeral services for Cortez resident Josefina Guadalupe ‘Lupe’ Buchholz will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Father Paul Sretenovic will officiate. Interment will follow at Goodman Point Cemetery. Visitation will take place at 10 a.m. and a rosary at 10:30 a.m. before the service.
Josefina Guadalupe (Lupe) Orozco-Buchholz, born March 19, 1934. Our dear Mamacita left this life May 13, 2022 and entered eternal life surrounded by prayers and family.
She is survived by six children with spouses as follows: Michael Buchholz (Monica) 7 grandchildren, Regina (Reggie) Ford (Mike) 3 grandchildren, Rebecca (Becky) Busing (Thadd) 10 grandchildren, Geraldine (Gerrie) Goodall (Rick) 6 grandchildren, Nathan (Nate) Buchholz (Citlalli) 7 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Liz) Wilson (Joe) 9 grandchildren.
Our beautiful mother was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and lived there until her marriage with our honorable father, Gerald Charles Buchholz on August 30, 1969. After their honeymoon they returned to the United States and resumed their residence in Goodman Point to raise six children. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2014.
Lupe was an amazing cook who shared her incredible talents with her children, along with amazing homemaking skills. Her dining room table was always open to local friends and adopted family… “mi casa es su casa.” She knitted and gifted countless blankets to all her grandbabies and every friend’s child. Most notably of what she passed on to her descendants was a great devotion to the Catholic Faith and Our Lady of Guadalupe.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Isabel Orozco; her brother, Enrique Orozco; and one sainted grandchild, Helen Suzanne Buchholz (Daughter of Nate and Citlalli Buchholz).
May she rest in peace.
