JON CHRISTOPHER SANDERS Graveside services for Cortez resident Jon Christopher Sanders will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 2 at Cortez Cemetery. Jon was born on June 24, 1956 in Fort Carson, Colo. the son of Beryl Kenneth and Madelain Eugenia (Yarlott) Sanders. He passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango at the age of 53. On May 17, 1982, Jon married Susan Ann Muzzy in Tempe, Ariz. Jon loved to play the guitar. His grandchildren and his dog, "Hemi" brought his life much happiness. Surviving Jon are his wife of 27 years, Susan Sanders of Cortez; his children, Jon H. Sanders, Dave M. Sanders, and Kelli N. Sanders, all of Cortez; his step-daughter, Kiffany Pixler and husband, Randy of Cortez; three grandchildren, KayLee Sanders, Justin Sanders, and Easton Pixler; and his brother, Beryl Sanders and wife, Diane of Glendale, Ariz. Jon was preceded in death by his parents.
