John Byron Hackett

Memorial services for John Byron Hackett, 58, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30 at his home 24949 Road F., Cortez. John was born June 7, 1949 in Cortez and died April 27 at home. He was an accomplished master plumber and carpenter. Survivors include the mother of his children Sharon M. Hackett; his children Starla Hackett, Stacy Malloy-Inman, Susan Spall and Shauna Gray of Grand Junction, Harvey Hackett of Durango, Heather Dahl, John C. Hackett, Larry Hackett and Sonya Hackett of Cortez and 13 grandchildren, sisters Doris Boren, Myra Burriss, Olive Wright, Hilda Fish, Alta Ethen and Louise Hicks and a brother Eddie Hackett of Tulsa, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents John C. and Mary A. Hackett, and bothers Wayne, Harvey, Larry, Fred and George Hackett.
