Joe Frank

Funeral services for Shiprock, NM resident Joe Frank will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 1 – 3 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Ertel Memorial Chapel.
Joe was born July 15, 1917 in Teec Nos Pos, AZ. His mother, Rose Niclaastiischilli, was of the Yucca Fruit Clan and his father, Calvin Clah Nez, was of the Many Goats Clan. He passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Cedar Ridge Inn in Farmington, NM at the age of 102.
Surviving Joe are his children, Huskie Nelson of Shiprock, NM, Lisa Arviso of Tucson, AZ, Samuel Frank (Irene) of Phoenix, AZ, Willie Frank (Sarah) of Kayenta, AZ, Bernice Frank of Kirtland, NM, Helena Frank of Albuquerque, NM, Arlene Frank (Bruce Brown) of Valley Springs, CA, Joe Frank Jr. of Denver, CO; his sister, Marie Tso of Teec Nos Pos, AZ; his brothers, Kee Clahnez (Irene) of Teec Nos Pos, AZ, and Leonard Nez of Teec Nos Pos, AZ; 17 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his spouse, Hazel Todacheenie Frank; and his sons, Tom Nelson and Lee Frank.
