Joan Rose Weibert Conrad was born October 21, 1933 in Hardin, MT to Palmer and Christine Weibert. She passed away at the Valley Inn in Mancos, CO on September 22, 2021.
Joan married Lester “Corky” Conrad in Hardin, MT on August 28, 1953. Two beautiful daughters were brought into this union, Vicki Lynn and Nadine Marie. After relocating to the Cortez area, Joan worked lovingly and tirelessly as a rancher’s wife and mother. Also, she worked proudly as the Dietary Supervisor for the Southwest Memorial Hospital until her retirement. During her free time, she was very involved in the Women’s Auxiliary at the American Legion Post #75, she was a member of the Emblem Club at the Cortez Elks Lodge, as well as the Red Hat Society. Joan was an ardent supporter of the local rodeo, loved going camping, enjoyed dancing, and adored supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events.
Surviving Joan are her two daughters, Vicki and husband Tom Maley, and Nadine Christian, all of Cortez, CO; she is also survived by six grandchildren, Kristi and husband Nathan Castello of Albuquerque, NM, Shannon and husband Pat Prendergast of Golden CO, Ryan Maley, Gabriel Christian, David Christian and Aaron Christian all of Cortez, CO; as well as nine great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and her siblings, Shirley McCuistion of Kansas City, MO, and Palmer Weibert JR and wife Terri, of Lewiston, ID. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Rueben Weibert; her son-in-law, Henry Christian; and her loving husband of almost 58 years, Corky Conrad.
We would like to thank family and friends as well as the staff at the Valley Inn for their overwhelmingly loving prayers, support, and care for Joan.
Services for a celebration of the life of Joan will be held at the American Legion Post #75 on October 8, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
