JASON DANIEL BAILEY Memorial services for Mancos resident Jason Daniel Bailey will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12 at the Mancos Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Jason was born on January 22, 1969 in Newport Beach, Calif. the son of Sheila Phillips and Bob Bailey. He passed away at his home with his wife at his side, as the result of a short illness, in the early morning of Saturday, November 8, 2008. Jason was 39 years old. In 1987, Jason graduated from North Sanpete High School in Mount Pleasant, Utah. When in school Jason broke records in weight lifting. After leaving Utah, he went to travel around the country as a seismograph worker. While doing many hours of hard work he broke several company seismograph records. Jason moved to Mancos in 1994, where he worked in various industries. He enjoyed restoring old cars, building hot rods, wood working, rock and roll music, rock hunting, and collecting Hot Wheels. On May 31, 2003, Jason married Sue Elledge of Simi Valley, Calif. in Mancos. Surviving Jason are his loving wife of five years, Sue Bailey; and his three children, Jeremy Bailey, Jason Elledge, and Vanessa Elledge, all of Mancos. He also leaves behind his mother, Sheila Phillips and husband, Jamie of Mancos; his brother, William Bailey and his children, Paul and Tawny Bailey, all of Mancos; his sister, Heather Mykytiuk and her children, Annalisa, Elizabeth, and Alex Mykytiuk, all of Mancos; his father, Bob Bailey and wife, Bertha and their son, Joshua Bailey, all of Tucson, Ariz.; his maternal grandparents, B.L. Samons of Carlsbad, Calif., and Edna Bingham of Mancos; three grandsons, Logan Mills of Mancos, Donovan Elledge and Jacob Martinez, both of Denver, Colo.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that all loved him very much. Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, G.P. and Catherine Bailey; his uncle, David Samons; and his mother-in-law, Sharyce Dietz. Memorial contributions may be made in Jason's memory to the National Brain Tumor Foundation, 22 Battery Street, Ste. 612, San Francisco, Calif. 94111-5520.
