Jane Marie Gabardi

Jane Marie Gabardi (Edds) passed away on August 15, 2021 in her home in Cortez, Colorado. Her daughter, Angela Gabardi and her son-in-law, Chase Wesley were by her side.

Jane was born in Hoisington, Kansas to Coleen and Donald Edds. Jane was the middle child and only girl in a family of five children. Jane moved to Colorado after her time in the Air Force. Her passion for taking care of others and making others feel special lead her to a career in nursing. Jane specialized in Alzheimer’s and was also an activities director both in Cortez and Pagosa Springs, but she found her true niche with private duty home health. She was a beloved and respected nurse in the community, and she loved each and every one of her patients. Jane treasured her relationships with family and friends and was known for organizing amazing family reunions and fun adventures to reunite friends. Jane was a loving, hard-working, generous, and dedicated single mom, who was best friends with her daughter Angela. Known more commonly as Janie, she had a smile that could brighten any room, and she had a heart of gold that she shared with so many.

Jane is preceded in death by her father, Donald Edds; her mother, Coleen Edds; as well as many wonderful Edds and Rosetta aunts and uncles. Jane is survived by her brothers, Kenneth Edds and his wife Jackie Edds, Randal Edds and his wife Cathy Edds and their two sons Jeffery and Tanner, Michael Edds, and Donalds Edds; her son-in-law, Chase Wesley; and her daughter, Angela Marie Gabardi.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:00 am at Ertel Funeral Home. No flowers or donations are requested.
