Funeral services for James “Cheii” Jim will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14 at Cahone Mesa Church. Burial will follow at Jim Hataley Family Cemetery.
Cheii was born November 22, 1912 in Bluff, Utah the son of Jim Hataley and Susie Nakai dine bitsii. He passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at his residence at the age of 105.
Surviving Cheii are his wife of 75 years, Bessie (Begay) Jim of Cahone Mesa, Utah; his children, Elsie Keams (Herbert) of Cahone Mesa, Utah, and Allie Mark also of Cahone Mesa, Utah; his grandchildren, Terry Comanche Whitehorse (William) of Farmington, N.M., Sherry Tso of Farmington, N.M., Candace Keams-Benally (Merrill) of Shiprock, N.M., Everett Keams (Valorie) of Aneth, Utah, Shilo Keams of Cahone Mesa, Utah, Bryan Mark (Brenda) of Farmington, N.M., and Yolanda Mark of Cahone Mesa, Utah; and by 23 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Cheii was preceded in death by his parents; by his son Harry James Jim; and by his grandchildren, Garry James Jim, and Jennifer Jill Mark.
