JACQUELINE ROXANNA VAVRA Graveside services for Dolores resident, Jacqueline Roxanna Vavra were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 16 at the Summit Ridge Cemetery. Reverend Lynn Evans officiated. A visitation was held Friday morning from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Jackie was born on April 29, 1926 in Chickasha, Okla. the daughter of Ollie Jackson and Grace (Young) Morgan. She passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2004 at the Vista Grande Nursing Home in Cortez. Jackie was 78 years old. Jackie was raised in Hominy, Oklahoma. Upon her marriage to Mr. Elvin James Vavra on December 8, 1956 in Sedan, Kansas they moved to Cortez. She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed gardening and cooking. One of her favorite hobbies was crafting. Jackie is survived by her husband, Elvin Vavra; her children, Monte Pope and wife, Linda of Anchorage, Ak., Deborah Rosso and husband, Mike of Cortez, Glenn Vavra of Aztec, N.M., Linda Vavra and James Vavra both of Dolores. She leaves 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, John Dwayne Pope; and her siblings, J.P Morgan, Leah Evans, Ronald Morgan, and William Morgan.
