Jack White

Funeral services for Dove Creek resident Jack White will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2021 at Dove Creek 1st Baptist Church. Pastor Gregg Liming will officiate. Interment will follow at Dove Creek Cemetery.
Jack passed from this life November 28, 2021 at his home in Dove Creek surrounded by his wife and kids. Jack was born on April 11, 1934 in Purdon, Tex. to James Eli and Ruby White.
Jack was raised in Villegreen, Colo., close to Kim, Colo. Jack attended school in Villegreen and Kim. Jack married the love of his life, Earlene Daves on November 25, 1957 at Cortez, Colo. On November 25, 2021, they celebrated 64 wonderful years of marriage surrounded by his loving family. To this union three children were born, Larry, Don and Jackie.
Jack served his country from 1955-1957 in the United States Army. Jack served his time in Korea in the K-9 Dog Detachment. Jack was very proud to have served his country. It was an honor. Jack was very proud of his community and the love and support that this community had for everyone. No one was ever left out.
Jack was a cowboy at heart and loved all the animals. Jack worked at Uravan, Naturita, and Slick Rock, Colo. as a miner followed by working for Dolores County Road and Bridge Department for 26 years.
Surviving Jack are his loving wife, Earlene White; sons, Larry (Mindy) White, Don White (Julie Crawford), and Rodney (Berlinda) Johnson; daughters, Jackie Cook, and Debbie (Lance) Hollbrook; five grandchildren, Jake White, Alyssa (Rick) Barreras, Tony (Riley) Smith, Justin (Brittany) White, Taylor Cook and Jay Johnson; six great-grandsons, and one on the way, Wyatt, Colten, Hunter, Rhemy, Brant, and Jeremiah; brother, Jim (Ruthie) White; sisters-in-law, Kay Daves, Linda Rehmert, Margaret Daves, Peggy Daves, Susie Wolford; and brothers-in-law, Marlin (Kay) Daves, and Woodie (Arlene) Daves.
Jack had so many special people in his life, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that filled his life with joy. Please no one be offended if you weren’t mentioned, you were all very special to Jack.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Ruby White; his sister and her spouse, Frances and Glenn Adams; his brother and spouse, Paul and Nancy White; his two grandchildren, Randy Howe and Barbara Johnson; and by too many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law to list.
