Jack Clarence Acree

JACK CLARENCE ACREE Funeral services for longtime Cahone resident Jack Clarence Acree will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 27 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Jack was born November 30, 1930 in Pomona, Calif. the son of Clarence Jack and Edna Hope (Bradley) Acree. He passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Vista Grande Inn Nursing Home at the age of 85. On February 6, 1953, Jack married Erma Loveta Pruitt in San Dimas, Calif. Jack was an accomplished track athlete in high school and college. He was a member of the General Assembly and Church of the First Born in Arriola. In his free time, Jack enjoyed bow hunting, fishing and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. Surviving Jack are his loving wife of 63 years, Erma Acree of Cahone; his children, David Acree (Nancy) of Mancos, Mark Acree (Dawn) of Durango, Lisa Acree of Cahone and John Acree (Yukari) of Eugene, Ore.; his grandchildren, Michelle, Krista, Heather, Chris, Sarah, Michael, Danielle, Autumn, Mia, Jasmine, and Julia; and by 31 great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; by his daughter, Patty Acree; by his brother, Richard Acree; by his sister, Janet Blevins, and by numerous aunts and uncles.
