IRA HAMILTON HAYES Memorial service for lifelong Towaoc resident Ira Hamilton Hayes will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14 at the Towaoc Veterans Park. Military honors will be provided by the Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Ira was born March 29, 1960 in Towaoc the son of Gus Darwin and Maxine Olive (Lang) Hayes. He passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 57. Surviving Ira are his children, Aaron Hayes, Wyatt Hayes (Tanya Baker) and Marlene Price (Darian) all of Ignacio, Colo.; his grandchildren, Christopher Hayes, Destiny Hayes, Tristyn Price, and JazLynnJ Price; and by his siblings, Cherlyn Briggs of Seattle, Wash., Roselyn Martin (Chee) of Tohatchi, N.M., Michael Hayes Elkriver (Bertha) of Towaoc, Rickey Hayes (Sarah) of Towoac, Gary Hayes (Linda) of Sacramento, Calif., and Byron Hayes of Seattle, Wash. Ira was preceded in death by his parents; by his son, Ricky Hayes; by his step-son, Kennith Black; and by his siblings, Gus Hayes Jr., Nelson C.A. Elkriver, and Tony Tallbird.
