IOLA JEAN PEABODY Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident Iola Jean Peabody will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 21 at the Baptist Chapel of Cortez. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Pastor Mark Baker will officiate. Visitation has been scheduled for Sunday afternoon from 3-5 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Jean was born September 18, 1933 and passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at her residence at the age of 83. Surviving Jean are her children, Roger Peabody (Paulette) of Gillette, Wyo., Larry Peabody (Jeana) of Bakersfield, Calif., Bobby Peabody of Farmington, N.M., and Dorthey Phillips (Tex) of Cortez; and by 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Walter Peabody; and by her brother, Buck Willey.
