GWENDOLYN KAY JOHNSON Funeral services for Cortez resident Gwendolyn Kay Johnson will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 27 at the Friendship Assembly of God Church in Dolores. Pastor Gilbert Archuleta will officiate. Interment will follow at the Summit Ridge Cemetery. Gwen was born May 1, 1950 in Alamosa, Colo. the daughter of Jack O. Morrison and Edith Christena (Pratt) Morrison. She passed away at her home in Cortez on Sunday, August 22, 2004, at the age of 54. Gwen loved the building industry and took great pleasure in building numerous homes in the area as well as the Dolores Lodge. She co-owned a real estate agency in Dolores. Surviving Gwen are her husband, Jeffrey Dik Bouwer whom she married on July 4, 1999 in Dolores; and her brother, Jim 'Chico' Orlean of Belen, N.M. Her father, Jack Morrison; and her mother, Edith Morrison Freeman preceded Gwen in death.
