Graveside services for Egnar resident Glen Clifford Geisinger will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 at Burn Cemetery in Egnar, CO. Pastor Travis Randolph will officiate. Visitation will take place from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Ertel Memorial Chapel.
Clifford was born July 1, 1935 in Elkhart, KS the son of Glenn and Octa (Pridemore) Geisinger. He passed away in his sleep at his home in Egnar, CO. The Geisinger family moved to Egnar, CO in 1938, where they bought a piece of property four miles west of Egnar. They built a life that is still going today.
Clifford spent his whole life in the Burns area. He and his brother Harry helped their dad Glenn clean the land so they could farm. Clifford helped build the Burns schoolhouse he attended to 8th grade. He met the love of his life, Rachel Risenhoover, in 1952. They were married on December 30, 1953 in Joy, AR. They moved two days later to Egnar, CO where they built their life and raised their family.
The passion of Clifford’s life was working the land and maintaining equipment, both his and his neighbors. He also spent about 20 years working for San Miguel Road and Bridge Department building and maintaining the roads so the public had safe passage.
Clifford was preceded in death by his mother Octa and father Glenn. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rachel; his brother Harry Geisinger of Cortez; his children, Barbara (Daryl) Lind, Susan (Jack) Mott, and Wayne (Angela) Geisinger; his grandchildren, Glen and James Lind, Clifford and Michael Mott, Savanna Clutter, Jessica Catalano, Travis Geisinger; and 12 great grandchildren.
