Eric Von Fish Gray

ERIC VON FISH GRAY Funeral services for lifelong Mancos resident, Eric Von Fish Gray will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 26 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Arriola Cemetery. Pastor Jeff McDonell will be officiating. Eric was born on November 20, 1980 in Cortez, the son of Vergil Elmer and Myrtle Lorraine (Fish) Gray. He passed away at his home in Mancos on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the age of 34. Enjoying the outdoors even as a young man, Eric grew into a true outdoorsman and dedicated Boy Scout. He received his Eagle Scout and then later went on to become a Boy Scout Leader. Some of Eric's favorite outdoor sports included hiking, camping, water sports, riding ATV's and snowboarding. He was a brilliant man, graduating from Colorado State University, College of Engineering. He went on to work as a Civil Engineer in the construction industry. Surviving Eric are his sons, Ethan Forrest Gray and Elliot Eero Gray; and their mother, Erin Sue Jameson all of Durango; his parents, Vergil and Lorraine Gray of Cortez; his brother and sister, Ryan Vergil Fish Gray and wife, Misty June (Hately) and Sara Lorraine Fish Gray all of Cortez. He is also survived by a multitude of family and friends. Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Forrest and Flora Gray and John Charles and Julia "Judy" Fish.
