EILEEN KEELER CAMPBELL Funeral services for lifelong area resident Eileen Keeler Campbell will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 20 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Empire Chapel. Interment will take place at Cortez Cemetery. Eileen was born on June 9, 1922 in Lakeview the daughter of Rex Well and Bertha Marie (Vance) Keeler. She passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Aspen Gardens Assisted Living at the age of 88. On September 7, 1947, Eileen married Charles Albert Campbell in Denver, Colo. Eileen spent time as the women's supervisor for the railroad in Denver during World War II. She took part in restoration work completed at Mesa Verde National Park, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and the Edge of the Cedars Museum in Blanding. In her free time, Eileen enjoyed oil painting. Surviving Eileen are her husband of 63 years, Albert Campbell of Dolores; her daughter, Elaine Brown and husband, James of Dolores; her grandchildren, Colton Reed and wife, Sonia of Sidney, Australia, Devon Reed and wife, Denise of Gunnison, Colo., and Brean Shoopman and husband, Justin of Westminster, Colo.; her great-grandchildren, Sophia, Mercer, and Alexis Reed; by her sister, Jane Marie Austin of Durango; by her sister-in-law, Roberta Keeler of Cortez; and by her life-long friends, Corky James and Lois Hearne. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; and by her sister, Carolyn Wagoner. Memorial contributions may be made in Eileen Campbell's name to the Scott McComb Scholarship Fund, 827 W. 7th Street Cortez, Colo. 81321.
