Edna B. Coker

EDNA B. COKER Services for Dove Creek resident, Edna B. Coker will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 23 at the Dove Creek First Southern Baptist Church. Pastor Jimmy Carter will officiate. Interment will follow at the Dove Creek Cemetery. Edna was born on January 12, 1919 in Clyde, Tex. the daughter of Fritz and Ada Pearl (Williams) Springer. She passed away on Monday, December 20, 2004 at the Valley Inn Nursing Home in Mancos at the age of 85. Edna and W.T. Coker were married on February 22, 1940 at Big Spring, Texas, sharing more than 64 years together. Accomplished at the piano and organ, Edna served as the church pianist for many years. She enjoyed sewing and also loved the ocean and picking up shells. Her greatest love was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving Edna are her husband, W.T. Coker of Dove Creek; her two sons, Mike Coker and wife, Joanne of Dove Creek, and Charles R. Coker and wife, Barbara of Glenpool, Okla.; and seven grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
