Donald Junior Harrison

DONALD JUNIOR HARRISON Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident, Donald Junior Harrison will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 21 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Don was born on September 26, 1925 in Akron, Ohio to Donald Allen and Oral (Becker) Harrison. He passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2005 at the Vista Grande Nursing Home in Cortez at the age of 79. On February 7, 1946 in Mt. Vernon, Ill. Don married Norma J. McClure. He was a former B.P.O.E. #1789 member, and an avid Cubs fan. Don enjoyed collecting thousands of aluminum cans and golf balls for his grandchildren and friends. He had a heart of gold and a great sense of humor. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Don is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Norma; his children, Rebecca Harrison Marshall and husband, John of Mora, Minn., Bruce Harrison and Dottie Banks of Cortez, and Brad Harrison and wife, Frances of Cortez; his grandchildren, Michael and Casey Daboll of Denver, Travis Marshall and Danika Urban of Grand Junction, Colo., John and Melissa Marshall of Mora, Minn., Sara and Randy Spencer of Mancos, Hallie and David Yoder of Durango, Chance Harrison of Durango, Ben Banks of Flagstaff, Ariz., Mathew Harrison of Cortez, and Kristen Harrison of Grand Island, Neb.; his great-grandchildren, Trey, Taryn, Colt and Jori of Mancos, Tanus and Elise of Durango, Monique and Justean of Cortez, and Makayla of Mora, Minn. He leaves his sister, Wanda Kimbro of Prescott, Ariz.; as well as many relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; and an infant grandson, Bruce Allen Harrison Jr. Memorial contributions can be made in Don’s name at Vectra Bank.
