David Lee Whitten

Memorial services for Dolores resident David Lee Whitten will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Johnathan Bland will officiate.
David was born September 19, 1967 in Cortez, Colorado the son of John Whitten and Marlene (Hinton) Jones. He passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at his residence at the age of 51.
David married Jennifer Ussery. He worked for City Market. David enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, fly fishing, wake boarding, archery, golfing, bowling, and riding his Harley Davidson with friends. David was loved by so many from near and far, and was considered a brother by many friends from all over. He was a member of Victory World Outreach.
Surviving David are his wife, Jennifer Whitten of Dolores, CO; his sons, Bryndon Holaday of Dove Creek, CO and Mathew Whitten of Bloomfield, NM; his daughter, Brooke Whitten of Grand Junction, CO; his step son, Collin Rhymes of Dolores, CO; his sisters, Jamie Crawford and Sandy Jones of CO, Liz Hensley of KS, and Jeanne Poole of AR; his mother and step father, Marlene Hinton Jones and Skip Jones of Dolores, CO; his step mother, Linda Whitten of MO; his aunt, Bonnie Hohensee of CO; his nieces, Avery Debelak and Addison West of Shreveport, LA; his nephews, Tristan Swagerty and Will Swagerty of Dolores, CO, Hudson West and Drew West of TX; and his granddaughter, Emma.
Memorial contributions can be made in David’s name to Brain Cancer Research and Awareness.
