DALLAS FLOYD DAVES Memorial services for lifelong Dove Creek resident Dallas Floyd Daves will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 9 at Dove Creek High School. Inurnment will follow at Dove Creek Cemetery. Dallas was born the son of Stanley Daves and Deborah Dee (Neely) Daves on April 1, 1982 in Durango, Colo. He passed away at his Dove Creek home on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the age of 29. An avid hunter, Dallas enjoyed hunting mountain lions the most. He loved sports and was a great athlete. From an early age Dallas participated in football, baseball, and golf. Dallas was a competitive person by nature and he loved playing washers and cheering on the Oakland Raiders. Surviving Dallas are his wife, Nichole Daves of Dove Creek; and his children, Derek Daves of Richland, Wash., Darren Daves of Dove Creek, and twin daughters that Dallas raised for five years, Alexis and Alyssa Cornett both of Dove Creek. Dallas also leaves behind his father, Stanley Daves and wife, Charlotte of Dove Creek; his mother, Debbie Nash and husband, Glenn of Cortez; his siblings, Travis Daves and wife, Emily of Richland, Wash., Mandy Daves of Cortez, Trent Daves and wife, Megan of Dove Creek, D.J. Ford and wife, Hillary of Cortez, and Dannelle Ford of Dove Creek; his grandfather, Ralph Neely of Cahone; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members. Memorial contributions may be made in Dallas Daves’ name to either Citizens State Bank of Cortez or Community Bank in Dove Creek.
