Clifford Hershel Randles

August 28, 1936 — June 13, 2020

Graveside services for Clifford Hershel Randles, age 83, will be held at the Dove Creek Cemetery on June 26, 2020 at 10:00 am.
Clifford was born August 28, 1936 to James (Jim) Andrew and Irma Louise (Lewis) Randles in rural Cortez, CO. His father raised cattle and other farm animals and had owned a dairy in the La Junta, CO area while Clifford was a school aged child. He was the seventh of their eight children. His siblings were John, George, Glen, Viola, Elbert, Exia, and Floyd. He married local resident Dessie LaVeta Lynn in 1957, and they raised two children, Clifford (Ebert) and Dessie moving to many local communities (Naturita, Uravan, Mexican Hat, Monticello, and Dove Creek) while he worked as a miner and ore hauler for many years. Later he continued his profession as a long haul truck driver hauling loads everywhere from Florida to Seattle and from New York to California. He never seemed to grow tired of it but had to retire when his health began to fail. He spoke often throughout the years of his love for gold panning and was planning to head down to Quartzsite, AZ with a little camp trailer to spend the sunset of his life to do just that. He died on June 13, 2020 at his daughter's home.
Surviving Clifford are his daughter, Dessie; his sister, Exia Randles Harding; his former spouse, Sharon Thompson Randles; his step daughter, Tina Barrett; his grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
