CHRISTOPHER JAMES “CHRIS” SOUTHERLAND Memorial services for Mancos resident Christopher James “Chris” Southerland will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 30 at the Lewis Arriola Community Center. Pastor Dana Holman will officiate. Chris was born on January 15, 1974 in Perryton, Tex. the son of Paul Ray and Debra Lynn (Schooling) Southerland. He passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2007 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 33. On July 20, 2002, Chris married Misty LaDawn Neely in Arriola, Colo. In his free time, Chris loved fishing and camping. His friends and family were very dear to him and he cherished time spent with them. Surviving Chris are his wife, Misty Southerland of Mancos; his children, Swae Nicole Southerland and Eldon Blaise Southerland, both of Mancos; his father, Paul Southerland of Brenham, Tex.; his mother, Debra Schooling of LaGrange, Tex.; and his siblings, Brandi Michaelle Iselt and husband, Paul of Waco, Tex., Michael Paul Southerland and wife, Jessie of Loma Linda, Calif., Terra Raychelle Southerland of Scottsdale, Ariz., Amber Rena Fischer and husband, Brock of Mancos, Tasha Ann Southerland of Willington, Kan., and Cody Allen Southerland of Hinton, Okla. Memorial contributions may be made in Chris’ name to Citizens State Bank P.O. Drawer T, Cortez, Colo. 81321.
