Charlotte Ann Mcguire

CHARLOTTE ANN "CHARLIE" MCGUIRE Charlotte Ann "Charlie" McGuire was born on February 10, 1941 in Lubbock, Tex. the daughter of John Melvin and Mary Evelyn (Bryant) McGuire. She passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at her Dove Creek residence at the age of 67. Charlie was very devoted to holistic and alternative medicine. She was a graduate of the University of Texas medical program and spent 45 years as a Registered Nurse. Charlie also founded and was active in the American Holistic Nurses Association and she belonged to the Southwest Institute for Women. Charlie was the co-founder of the Buffalo Women Ranch and she participated with the equine integrative healing program on the ranch. She cared very deeply for trees, animals, and the land. Caretaking was the main focus of her life. Surviving Charlie are her mother, Evelyn Hicks and husband, Cleo of Cortez; her father, John McGuire of Abilene, Tex.; her partner, Robbie Nelson of Dove Creek, Colo.; her aunt, Juanita Bryant of Waco, Tex.; her friend, Margarete Hatcher of Flagstaff, Ariz.; numerous cousins; the Buffalo Women's Ranch Herd; her cats and dogs; and a host of friends. Charlie was a caregiver to many and was loved deeply by the circle of people she helped along the way. Memorial contributions may be made in Charlie's name to the Buffalo Women Ranch, P.O. Box 910 Dove Creek, Colo. 81324. Cremation has taken place and services are currently pending.
