Charlotte Aileen Richards

CHARLOTTE AILEEN RICHARDS Charlotte Aileen Richards was born on December 21, 1957 in Butte, Mont. to Jack Ravndal and Margaret "Peggy" Aileen (Kortum) Ravndal. She passed away on September 14, 2011 at her home at the age of 53. In 1980, Charlotte graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelors degree in Geology. She worked 30 years GIS Mapping for UNOCAL, Conoco Philips, and most recently Resolute Energy. Charlotte married Robert Arland Richards on August 31, 1989 in Los Angeles, Calif. They lived in Sugarland, Texas for 14 years and moved to Cortez 5 years ago. In her spare time, Charlotte enjoyed art, origami, and quilting. She also loved gardening, bird watching, and traveling the world. Surviving Charlotte are her husband, Bob; her mother, Peggy Ravndal of Belgrade, Mont.; and her siblings, Levi Ravndal and his wife, Lyna of Great Falls, Mont., Ingrid Hefty and husband, John of Bozeman, Mont., Barbara Cutter of Gardnerville, Nev., Ione VanWagenen of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Harold Ravndal of Anaconda, Mont. Charlotte was preceded in death by her father. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Charlotte's life will be held on Thursday, September 22 at her home, 11600 Road 28.3, Cortez at 6 p.m.
