CARIS LOPEZ Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident Caris Lopez will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 17 at the Esther Lopez residence, 340 Bear Mesa Lane, Towaoc. Elwood Kent will officiate. Interment will follow at Towaoc Cemetery. A Wake has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, starting at 5 p.m. at the Esther Lopez residence. Caris was born October 23, 1989 in Cortez the daughter of Boyd and Esther (Wall) Lopez. She passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo. on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the age of 24. Loving the outdoors, Caris especially enjoyed fishing. She also liked to cook. Caris always had a smile on her face. She loved being around people and making them laugh. Caris was a very loving person and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving Caris are her mother, Esther Lopez of Towaoc; her father, Boyd Lopez of Towaoc; her sister, Benita Hayes of Towaoc, her brother, Boris Lopez of Towaoc; her maternal grandmother, Leora Knight of Towaoc; her aunt, Glenda Badbear of Towaoc; her uncles, Bailey Cotonuts and wife, Fawnda of Towaoc; Norman Wall and companion, Glynis Wall of Towaoc, Alton House of Towaoc, Darwin House of Towaoc, and Patrick Knight of Towaoc; her friend, Shyvaughn Yellow of Towaoc; and numerous nieces and nephews.
