ATHA LAURENA WILCOX Graveside interment services for Atha Laurena Wilcox, 90 of Dove Creek, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 20 at the Cedar Cemetery in Montrose, Colo. Atha was born at Wiley, Colo. on June 19, 1914, the daughter of Charles Atlas and Mary Elizabeth (Nodine) Davis. She passed away at her Dove Creek home on Friday, August 13, 2004. By training Atha was a Licensed Practical Nurse working a number of years at Colorado General Hospital in Denver. She enjoying handiwork, keeping her hands busy doing needlework, crocheting, quilting, knitting, and gardening. After her move to the Dove Creek area five years ago, Atha became very involved with the Senior Center in Cahone. Atha is survived by her sons, Donald Rhodes of Ashfork, Ariz., and Charles Rhodes and wife, Alta of Dove Creek; and step-son, Wayne Wilcox of Casper, Wyo.; granddaughter, Tammy Tentler and husband, Dave of Cortez; and granddaughter-in-law, Lynn Rhodes of Casper, Wyo. Atha is survived by a total of four grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. One sister, Charlene Snare of Denver, Colo.; and one sister-in-law, Marie Davis of Craig, Colo.; and several very special nieces and nephews also survive Atha. Preceding her in death were her husband, Waldron Donald Rhodes; a daughter, Thelma Elizabeth Rhodes in 1938; and a grandson, Donald E. Rhodes in October 2003.
